These terms govern your use of the Layer Labs website and the 3D printing and engineering services we provide from Cape Town, South Africa. By requesting a quote or placing an order, you agree to them.
Our services
We offer FDM 3D printing, design and engineering support, and related services. We do our best to produce parts that match the files and specifications you provide. The finish, strength and tolerances of a print depend on the material, settings and model you choose.
Quotes and pricing
Prices shown by our instant quote tool are an estimate based on the information you provide. We confirm the final price with you before we begin printing. Quotes are valid for a limited time and may change if your model, material or quantity changes.
Orders and payment
An order is confirmed once you have approved the final quote and paid, or arranged payment with us. Online payments are processed securely by PayFast. We begin production after payment is received unless we have agreed otherwise.
Your files and rights
You keep ownership of the models and files you send us. We use them only to produce your order. By placing an order, you confirm that you have the right to print the model and that doing so does not infringe anyone else's intellectual property or other rights.
Acceptable use
We will not print items that are illegal, dangerous or infringing. This includes, among other things:
- Functional weapons or weapon components.
- Items that infringe a trademark, copyright or patent you do not have rights to.
- Anything unlawful under South African law.
We may decline any order at our discretion.
Production and delivery
Lead times we give are estimates and can vary with workload, material availability and the complexity of your order. We deliver nationwide through third party couriers. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery.
Refunds
Because our work is custom and made to order, refunds are handled as set out in our Refund Policy. Please read it before you order.
Liability
We take pride in our work, but to the extent allowed by law our liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page is the one that applies, so please check back when you place a new order.
