Printed in-house, layer by layer

Every order runs on our own Bambu Lab P2S fleet, designed, printed and inspected under one roof.

Why teams choose us

Layer Labs difference

Engineering-led additive manufacturing: real precision, honest pricing, and someone who actually knows the machine on the other end.

±0.1mm

Sub-millimetre precision

Layer heights down to 0.1 mm for detailed, dimensionally accurate parts that fit the first time, not the third.

3–5 day turnaround

Most orders leave the workshop in 3 to 5 business days, with rush options when a deadline is tight.

Price in seconds

Upload a model and see transparent pricing instantly, no back-and-forth, no waiting on a reply.

PLA · PETG · ABS

Three engineering-grade materials for mechanical, functional and display parts.

Inspected to spec

Every part is checked against spec before it ships, backed by our satisfaction guarantee.

Engineers on call

Mechanical engineers help optimise your design for strength, fit and a clean print.

Who you're working with

Built by two mechanical engineers

Layer Labs was founded by two mechanical engineers who would rather solve the hard problem than hand you a part that doesn't fit. We started it because good, engineering-led 3D printing was surprisingly hard to find in South Africa.

Design, printing and inspection all happen under one roof, so the person who prints your part is the same one who can tell you how to make it stronger, lighter or cheaper.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our 3D printing services.

We accept STL, OBJ, STEP and 3MF files. STEP is preferred for engineering parts as it preserves precise geometry. If you only have a sketch or measurements, our design team can build the model for you.

Fused Deposition Modelling builds parts by extruding melted thermoplastic layer by layer. It's robust, cost-effective and ideal for functional prototypes, jigs, fixtures and end-use components.

Most orders are produced and shipped within 3 to 5 business days. Larger production runs may take longer, and rush options are available when you're working to a deadline.

We stock PLA, PETG and ABS. Each offers a different balance of strength, temperature resistance, flexibility and finish, and we'll help you choose the right one for the job.

Absolutely. As mechanical engineers we offer custom CAD design, file repair and print optimisation, from a napkin sketch to a print-ready, manufacturable model.

We're based in South Africa and ship nationwide. Get in touch and we'll arrange the fastest, most cost-effective delivery to your door.
